We hold ours in heated parts through the colder months. When we have birds which were imported from Germany ... the German birds possibly came from the US so I feel certainly one of the issues is the lack of genetic diversity.  When they achieve one year of age they appear do quite effectively.  Ended up not able to handle chicks plenty of to o
